Snippet Vault does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. All your data stays on your device.
Snippet Vault is a Chrome extension that lets you save text, tables, images, and screenshots from webpages. This privacy policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it is used, and your rights.
Snippet Vault does not collect any data. Specifically:
All snippets, categories, tags, and preferences you create are stored locally on your device
using Chrome's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local). This data never leaves your
browser.
You can export your data as a JSON file and import it on another device. This process is entirely manual and initiated by you — no automatic syncing occurs.
You can delete all your data at any time by removing individual snippets, using the extension's settings, or uninstalling the extension.
When you actively select content and choose to save it, the extension reads the selected text, table, or image from the current webpage. It also captures the page URL and title to provide source tracking for your reference.
The extension only accesses page content in response to your explicit actions — it does not passively read, scan, or monitor any webpage content.
Here is a complete list of permissions and why each is required:

If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Significant changes will also be noted in the extension's changelog.
